The Book explains the traditional masterbuilders professional skills and intelligence in using local building materials such as muds, azaras(heavy rigid timbers), tubali(sun dried bricks) bulo(adobe bricks) and thatches in designing royal palaces, city walls and gates of Northern Nigeria. It is a product of research that was presented to the American Institute for Maghreb Studies (AIMS) and West African Research Association (WARA) international conference in Niamey, Niger Republic.
