While most women sulk at the disappointment of divorce, having feelings of failure, loss, and rejection, I used my "misfortune" to find my fortune and to find my riches in life. I also made a real commitment to my own self-care in the midst of the storm. I had to take care of me, and this was my new beginning in doing just that. Lemons were common for me from an early age, as you will learn in in this book. However, I always persevered the battlefields, with surviving both molestation and abandonment. Of course there were a few wrong choices made along the way, wanting to fit in, to be loved, and to be accepted by anyone who saw my worth instead of me seeing my own. Eventually, I got my act together and stood for something. I stood for someone worthy. I stood for me! My successes include receiving two Masters degrees, starting my own business, and currently being a sought-after mentor, supporting women who are faced with adversity, live life in a healthy and fabulous way by being unapologetic overcomers. I was blessed to be married for nearly 10 years, raising 3 beautiful children, and at one point having achieved, "the whole nine yards." That chapter has ended as a new one has begun, and I've continued to practice gratitude as this new chapter continues to unfold. This is what I want for you, to be open to all of the new possibilities and to accept that it is okay for portions of your life to be complete.
