Autorenporträt
Dicky was born in Edinburgh, and now lives in Letchworth Garden City, near London, with his wife, two children and two dogs! Dicky is a professional engineer, and an amateur adventurer, and has worked in London for over 35 years. He is also a dreamer, and is now living his long time dream, to write children's books! The Tom Mouse stories are inspired by the writer's second son Tom, who was born with Down's Syndrome and died in 2004, aged 7. The books focus on the character Tom Mouse and his adventures and challenges, aided by the wonderful friends he makes along the way. The adventures are loosely based on the charity challenges which Dicky has undertaken since 2005 for the Down's Syndrome Association. These include: dog sledging in the Arctic; motorcycling across India and trekking to Everest. Dicky was a London 2012 Olympics torchbearer, and fundraises for Woolgrove School in the UK and for the Down's Syndrome Association. www.challengepictures.co.uk
