Autorenporträt
My name is Kari. I live in a city of artists, dreamers and make believers. I earn a living posing in front of cameras and looking "pretty". A clothes hanger, a living mannequin, a model. This career has given me so many opportunities and experiences which I am endlessly grateful for. Despite all of the glamour and all of the money that comes with being a model, I have always known deep down at the core of soul that I was destined to do more. To feel more. To be more. Pretty is not my purpose. I want to be a voice for those who know they have more to offer than what meets the eye. Who feel suppressed by their image. Who are trying to fill up a box that society told them they should. Who want more than to pose for a photo, sing a song, appear on a screen, they want to make people feel something. When you are watched by followers and consumers of media they are quick to make assumptions about who you may be as a person. You appear a certain way therefore you must be a certain way and possess a specific set of characteristics. The most important thing I want anybody reading this to know- Every. Single. Person. Has thoughts nobody has heard, and never will. WE ALL have dreams, fantasies, feelings, sadness, anger, pleasure and secrets that make us who we are. You never know anybody's soul. That is okay... it's about being aware that others have one and about understanding that their soul is just as vast and yearning as your own. Be willing to learn more about others. Be flexible in your opinions. Be kind, be open, be love.
