We know a lot about the risk factors that influence Native American youth development but very little about the assets that lead to thriving (e.g., school success, maintaining good health, and overcoming adversity) among these youth. This book begins with a review of the general positive youth development literature and ends by using a Native American Worldview to understand the results of this study. Specifically, a Native American Medicine Wheel called, The Circle of Courage, is used to guide the discussion and make sense of the results of this study from a positive perspective.
