She was baptized into Christ when she was twelve and has been a faithful and productive Christian since. While still living in Woodville she met and married Lloyd Parr, who was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego, California, where they made their home. During their 20-year career in the military, four years in the Navy and sixteen in the Air Force, "Fran" lived in several different places including Okinawa and Turkey. No matter where they were, Fran was active in the Church, teaching the Bible to children's and ladies' classes. She also wrote articles and Bible studies for Christian Woman magazine, and VBS material for elementary age children for Lambert Book House. When Lloyd retired from the Air Force the family moved to Eldon, Missouri, where they attended the Oak Street Church of Christ.
