For that reasons, South Caucasus has become the area of diverse interests and the involvement of internal and external players, including international organizations, have increased in regional politics. One of the main determinant why the region gained vital importance also is US special interests in "Global War on Terror", the coordinated, collective and global efforts against violence which has developed after 9/11 unfortunate events. Furthermore, the region is quite close to Middle East, Afghanistan and Iran.
