This book contains some findings of a research conducted on the novel "The Waiting Earth" written by Punyakante Wijenaike. Selected lines from the novel have been analyzed to arrive at the research findings. The findings reveal that the majority of the independent variables have made the landless, innocence and poor men and women as victims in the novel whereas factors related to history, society and individuality were the leading motives for all these miseries in the fiction.

El Sr. Yogarajah Atchuthan es profesor adjunto de inglés y director del Departamento de Inglés del Instituto Tecnológico Avanzado de Vavuniya. Es autor de varios artículos de investigación, libros y capítulos de libros, y ha presentado los resultados de sus investigaciones en muchas conferencias internacionales de investigación en Sri Lanka. Es licenciado en lengua inglesa.
