Autorenporträt
Betty Nicholas Bowers was a depression era child on the wide windswept prairies of South Dakota. After several academic degrees awarded with honor, she lived and worked in New York City where her creative life with her painter husband developed. Their children were raised in the lovely Northwoods town of Wausau, Wisconsin, while the family also created The Windmill Gallery in Ephraim, Door County, Wisconsin. During these busy years, she attended the University of Iowa summer writing workshop. She went to study creative non-fiction but heard a poet read and everything changed. In later years, she lived in Tucson, Arizona and now resides in Madison, Wisconsin.
