Study with the objective of knowing the perception of professionals, students and physiotherapists teachers about the professional performance and training to act in the mental health field, under the perspective of the integrality of the assistance offered. It is a descriptive-exploratory study of qualitative approach, through semi-structured interviews. The data collected were submitted to content analysis and the results revealed that the training of the student in physiotherapy to act in mental health presents limitations, because the content related to the subject is not approached in a structured manner in the course; they also showed that most of the research participants also did not study content related to the practice of the physiotherapist for this field of knowledge while undergraduate, which favors learning in an empirical manner and continuity of the gap in the training of this professional. However, some participants recognized the importance of their role in the mental health team, possibly in improving the user's functionality, considering that the person in mental suffering is also in places where the physiotherapist is inserted.
