Have you ever wondered what life is like for students with the drive, intellect, money, and luck to study in the Ivy League? The eight schools of the Ivy League - Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, and Yale - are among the most selective and academically rigorous institutions in the world. Each Ivy has its own history and personality, and each attracts brilliant and accomplished students from around the world. These students flock to idyllic campuses in the northeast to learn, live, and party with their peers. Over the course of an academic year, Sean-Michael Green embarks on an adventure to explore the Ivy League. He spends 30 days at each of the eight schools - attending classes, participating in campus life, and meeting with students. He explores the myths and secrets of the institutions. His travels lead him from fraternity parties and strip clubs to cutting-edge research and engaging professors to historical landmarks and cherished traditions. This is the funny and inspiring tale of what he learned along the way.
Autorenporträt
Sean-Michael Green was a terrible high school student, barely graduating with poor grades. He found college years later, and discovered an aptitude and intellectual curiosity that surprised him. He earned degrees at the University of Pittsburgh, Marist College, the University of Pennsylvania, and Cornell University; and he studied at Columbia, Carnegie Mellon, and the Sorbonne. Today, he works as an administrator at a university. Prior to pursuing his dream of working in higher education, Sean-Michael served as a United States Marine, an attorney, an entrepreneur, a hotel clerk (for about three hours), an Emergency Medical Technician, and a stand-up comedian. He lives in the northeast of the United States, surrounded by Ivy League schools.
