Sorocaba is an important city in the interior of São Paulo State that stands out for its industrial production and its condition as the seat of government of a large administrative region of the State of São Paulo. From the analysis of the development of the municipality, we seek to understand the territorial constitution of the Technological Park of Sorocaba "Alexandre Beldi Netto" (PTS), investigating its main socio-economic and institutional elements in order to characterize the dynamics and articulations built until its consolidation, concomitantly with the analysis of public policies implemented at the municipal and state levels. Thus, it is intended to study the industrial evolution of the municipality, identifying the emergence of material and immaterial (cultural/social) resources capable of attracting a project such as a Technology Park. In this sense, social actors and the governance structure of the PTS appear as determining factors for the understanding of power relations and the impacts caused by this venture to Sorocaba society.
