Born Carl Sheffield, December 17, 1949. To share cropper in north west Georgia, a cotton farmer. Like as most farmers son I couldn't wait to leave the farm. Joined the army at a very young age. Went to Vietnam several other countries. Returning home I drove a truck forty two years, then retired, owned a restaurant, at this time I have started taking writing lessons.

Carl Sheffield was born on December 17th, 1949 to a share-cropper cotton farmer. Growing up, he feels he was very much like every other farmer's son and he could not wait to leave the farm. He joined the Army at the age of 17 and was trained in Fort Benning, Fort Polk, LA, and Washington State. He served in Bear Cat, Vietnam and made his sergeant stripes very quickly. When he returned home, he drove a truck for several years. In retirement, he owned a restaurant. He now resides in Rome, GA.
