This book aims at examining the most important trend in Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury and Light in August, that is, the spirit of anger as the essential motive for all actions. The book focuses only on these two novels, because they are psychological novels that are concerned primarily with the mental and emotional lives of their characters rather than the external events of their plots.
