Janet Arnold is a Behaviour Consultant, Registered ECE, an accredited Triple P Practitioner (Standard Stepping Stones) and a High Five Trainer who has a strong background in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). Since 1996, Janet has worked with children, their families, and individuals in clinical and educational settings in Ontario, Newfoundland and Alberta and has worked under the supervision and mentoring of many top Behaviour Analysts. Janet's past work experience has afforded her many opportunities to develop her skills in coaching, consultation, training and resource development. Having worked as a therapist, consultant, supervisor and assistant director in therapeutic settings, along with families and educators, she has a strong understanding of the needs of children and youth as well as the staff and families that support them. As a Behaviour Consultant she continues to work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to increase their knowledge and build capacity within school boards and community agencies. She is responsible for coaching, consulting, training, researching and developing resources on evidence-based and informed-practices on positive child development. Janet has designed, developed, adapted, and prepared resource materials based on client needs. As well, she has developed and delivered a variety of trainings to school board staff, community agencies, and parents. Not only has Janet co-published a book: How to Explain a Diagnosis to a Child, she is also a contributor to parenting and educational blogs for savvysassymoms (www.savvysassymoms.com) Janet is actively involved in a variety of community working groups and is the Chair of York Region Bullying Prevention Partnership, member on the Board of Directors for the Learning Disabilities Association of York Region, holds memberships with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario (AECEO) as well as the Centre for Exceptional Children.
