Jordina Holland a voyagé dans tout le Canada et le reste du monde. Elle a surtout apprécié la nature et la faune si variées partout où elle est allée. Pendant sa carrière, comme enseignante, elle a passé maintes années à partager la littérature de jeunesse avec ses élèves. Les Aventures secrètes d'un canard sauvage est basé sur une expérience personnelle que Jordina a vécue avec sa famille lorsqu'elle habitait près du Lac Ontario pendant sa jeunesse. À présent, elle vit dans la belle Vallée de l'Okanagan en Colombie Britannique. Jordina tient à remercier Nicholas Mueller pour ses illustrations si chaleureuses et détaillées.
