Dr. Zoryana Vovchok is Policy Planning Officer in the Director General's Office for Policy (DGOP) at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna (Austria). She started working at the IAEA in January 2008, first in the section on Nuclear and Treaty Law of the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA), and as External Relations and Policy Officer at the Office of External Relations and Policy Coordination (EXPO) from September 2008 to April 2011. Ms. Vovchok has been working in the areas of nuclear non-proliferation (IAEA safeguards and verification of nuclear programmes of States) and nuclear security. She has also been involved in the development of innovative nuclear projects in the framework of international cooperation in nuclear field - Multilateral Approaches to the Nuclear Fuel Cycle (MNA), including assurances of supply of nuclear fuel. Prior to joining the IAEA, Ms. Vovchok was pursuing her studies for a PhD in International Studies, major in International Law, at the University of Trento (Italy). She was awarded PhD degree in 2010. Dr. Vovchok is a member of the International Nuclear Law Association (INLA) and the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS).

Dr. Vovchok holds a PhD in International Studies, major in International Law (University of Trento), an MA (with Honours) in International Law (Lviv ¿Ivan Frankö National University, Ukraine), an MA in International Studies (University of Trento, Italy) and a Diploma in International Nuclear Law from the International School of Nuclear Law (ISNL).
