Mycorrhizal associations, especially arbuscular mycorrhizae and ectomycorrhizae, illustrate the mutual benefits plants receive through nutrient exchange and improved soil health (Smith & Read, 2008). Endophytic fungi further contribute to plant survival by inhabiting internal tissues, enhancing stress tolerance, and protecting against pathogens (Arnold, 2007). Fungi also produce growth-promoting hormones like auxins, aiding plant development under adverse conditions (Harman, 2006).Pathogenic fungi present challenges, as they invade plants, disrupting cellular processes and affecting agricultural productivity (Agrios, 2005). However, advancements in fungal research have opened new avenues in sustainable agriculture, where mycorrhizal fungi are used as bioinoculants, improving crop yield and soil remediation.
