Young Lilly Riverpool, one of the Wild Folk, comes of age in this mystical adventure through The Deep Forest. The Raising of the Amethyst Stone is a prequel to the fantasy novel trilogy, Leaflings. On her journey, she encounters colorful characters and many dangers in her quest to journey away from her woodland home and into the streets of the big city of Cobblestone. Lilly fancies a new star on the horizon and considers it a sign of her future destiny. Little does she know that her beloved new star is actually a comet racing toward Earth and the Realm of Greenwale. Her journey comes to an abrupt halt with the meteor crash as she races back home with many uncertainties about her family. In this tumultuous time, Lilly is mysteriously led to the discovery of the Leaflings, the enchanting new leafy creatures of The Deep Forest. Darren Shell recaptures the wondrous world of Tal Kator and the Mirare' Falls in this prehistory of his previous writings. Join the aways-playful Lilly and reconnect with the precious antics of the Leaflings in a race to save the heart of the meteor ... the Amethyst Stone.
