It would seem easy to follow our hearts and desires but we are prisoners of the natural world and the laws if physics. It is presented that we are following our hearts and desires but, in the end, will be causing our own demise. Building monuments and wallowing in our glories is nature's way of fulfilling its ultimate destiny. A destiny that is in conflict with the author's hopes and desires for the protection and promotion of life on Earth.
