The Plight of Things is the book version of the highly successful blog theplightofthings.blospot.com. It is written by Laurence Klinger He was born in São Paulo, completed high school in Milford, Connecticut, and studied theater direction at the British Drama League in London. As part of his training, Laurence collaborated with Polish director Jerzy Grotowski in the production of "The Constant Prince" in Berlin. Laurence's work appears in Europe Revue Literaire and Le Lorgnon Mélancolique (France), Socialist Commentary (UK), Honkerkrant (Netherlands), Literary Orphans, Curtiss Bauss Books, Glimmer Train, Writer's Digest top 10 Literary Contest (USA), Editora Alfa-Omega (Brazil). Besides his literary work, Laurence has had a long career in advertising in Brazil, Spain, and the United States, being considered one the most awarded creative professionals in the world. He was elected Multicultural Creative Director of the Year in the United States in 2011, 2013, and 2015, and president of the Creative Circle of Multicultural Agencies in the U.S. and Latin-America. Currently, Laurence is a professor of Writing and Creativity at Book180 Institute, a virtual school of Communication based in South Carolina.
