Let's face it, in today's time, it's hard to wait for anything! Instant gratification is the name of the game. Everything we need, want, and learn is pretty much a push-button away. The restless and eager Emma is no different in this story. She is all about getting things done as simply and quickly as possible. Emma has a hard time waiting for anything and likes to get the job done. In this story, she is facing first grade in a new school with new teachers and friends. She suddenly realizes life can be scary sometimes, even for a first-grader. Emma soon learns, with the help of her trusted and wise friend, Mom (whom she calls Mia) that doing things differently is sometimes more satisfying, and a great way to invest in friendships. Have you ever acted before you thought or had a hard time waiting? If this has ever happened to you then maybe you can learn from Emma's story.
Autorenporträt
Susan Conolly Horne has been secretly writing children's stories for years! She grew up in Athens, Georgia, but raised her family in a town not too far from Athens called Decatur. Susan became a teacher of young children and lucky for her, she learned how important reading and writing are. Many of her ideas have been shaped by the people and events around her. She loves teaching young children and adults and is now retired and lives in Covington, Georgia. She devotes much of her time to creating and continuing to write her own stories.
