Autorenporträt
William Nagle was born in Bacchus Marsh, Australia in 1947. Enlisting in the army in 1964, he qualified as a cook the next year. In mid-1966 he was deployed with the SAS to Saigon, but was sent home for subordination and later discharged. His award-winning novel The Odd Angry Shot fictionalized his experiences in Vietnam. Nagle married and spent the latter years of his life in Los Angeles. He died in 2002. Paul Ham is the multi-award-winning author of Hiroshima Nagasaki (2011), Vietnam: The Australian War (2007), Kokoda (2004) and Sandakan (2012). Since 1998 Paul has been the Australia correspondent for the London Sunday Times, covering politics, business and current affairs.
