Thomas Babington Macaulay (1800 to 1859) was a British historian, essayist, and politician. He was raised in Leicestershire, England, and went to Trinity College in Cambridge for his studies. He also wrote a ton, including several articles, reviews, and historical works. "The History of England from the Accession of James II," which is still regarded as a classic of English literature, is Macaulay's most well-known book.
