The abstract of the lectures on the discipline "Information Technologies and Computing Systems" is intended for full-time, full-time and part-time and correspondence students of technical departments of the Moscow Polytechnic and is profile-oriented, although the possibility of using it in other educational institutions, in the system of training masters also additional and second higher education. The manual gives a summary of the general provisions on the basic concepts of modern information technology (IT). The manual includes test questions for self-examination of knowledge on the material obtained. This provides a deeper and more detailed study of the proposed topics and a better consolidation of the material being studied. The course consists of fifteen lectures, chapters, sequentially describing the basic concepts of IT, the architecture of electronic computers and the main devices of modern computing and information systems (IS). Each chapter contains a theoretical description of the topic under consideration, as well as drawings and diagrams. This tutorial includes applications. Appendix A - contains a brief alphabetical index of the basic concepts of this course.
