Autorenporträt
Shellie Slack is a committed educator, youth advocate, and mentor who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Shellie has conquered challenges related to losses in her childhood and struggled with abandonment issues, depression, and self-esteem issues; she now uses her personal story to help encourage, inspire, and transform the lives of young people and women of all ages. Shellie has worked with children from elementary to high school ages for more than 15 years, as an instructor, tutor, mentor, advocate, teacher assistant, and dance coach. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Cal State Dominguez Hills, and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Loyola Marymount University. She started her teaching career in 2012 and is currently an Education Specialist for high school students with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Shellie's educational philosophy is that the social and emotional well-being of a child goes hand in hand with academics to prepare students for holistic success.
