Also included are rare images of the motel courts that began in the late 1920s along Route 1 from Kennebunk to today's Arundel, then North Kennebunkport.

Steven Burr is a lifelong Kennebunk resident, a local historian, and the author of Kennebunk: Main Street. He has compiled The Kennebunks in Season from his own postcard collection, which he has built over the past twenty years.
