Textbooks always have been essential components in the process of education. Concerning selecting an appropriate coursebook, many evaluations have been done by teachers and researchers in different fields of specialization. Evaluating process helps the teacher to find weak points of the book in order to change the book or fill the gaps with further related materials in the classroom. In this respect, this study is an attempt to evaluate two specialized course books for Iranian law students based on the evaluation checklist constructed by Miekley (2005) considering five major aspects of a standard textbook. Data collection is done through six interviews with six professors who have taught both research books for more than three years and 60 translated versions of checklists which are filled by 60 students in bachelor's degrees. The results of this study will be very constructive and applicable both for language teachers and for material developers because it has found various weakpoints in both books and the study can prove that in some aspects they are far from course book's standards.
