Television shows promote it, Hollywood glamorizes it, parents ignore it, and churches tolerate it. "It" is sex. And you don't need the stats about who's doing it to know that it's part of your reality. Our culture says sex is love and love is sex and if you aren't in on the action, you're missing out. But this view is really just a cover-up of the truth--having sex before you're married will hurt you. And we're not just talking about STD's. We're talking about your self-worth, trust, communication, resentment, and your emotional and sexual relationship with your future spouse. Written from both an informed and practical perspective, The Intimacy Cover-Up is a biblical approach to sex, intimacy, love, and marriage by a family therapist and his twenty-something daughter. It's time to look at God's point of view on relationships in a world that's not interested in uncovering the truth. "Together [Roger and Karlyn] provide a useful resource for finding a godly balance in developing healthy and intimate relationships without an exclusive emphasis on sex. This is a valuable resource." --Grant L. Martin, Ph.D. Psychologist, author, and speaker P. Roger Hillerstom is a family therapist with Heritage Counseling Associates in the Seattle, Wash. area. He holds professional degrees in psychology and in marriage and family counseling. The author of Your Family Voyage and Adult to Adult, Roger has nearly two decades of experience working with couples and individuals. Karlyn Hillerstrom is currently working toward a degree in secondary education. She is active in several youth ministries in the Seattle, Wash. Area, and considers working with high school drama teams to be better than eating Belgian milk chocolate raspberry crème truffles.
