Vitamin C can be related to positive effects of its use in individuals with COPD. Ascorbic acid is a potent antioxidant and can protect the tissues that suffer damage caused by oxidative compounds arising from COPD. However, more studies are needed to confirm this relationship by evaluating oxidative stress as well as antioxidants among COPD patients.
