Some books simply entertain us, while others help us wrestle with life's deepest questions. The House on Neptune is one of those rare books that does both. With humor, honesty, and keen biblical insight, Brian Robbins brings Christians face to face with one of the Bible's great themes which, if we believed it, would change everything in our lives. Planet Earth, he says, is not our home. He shares the experiences and Scriptures which have convinced him that Christians are better off to seeing themselves as "strangers and aliens" here, and makes the case that when they do so, life is more fulfilling even this side of eternity. Along the way, he brings his down-to-earth teaching style to topics of universal importance, and challenges us to imagine what our lives would be like if we were willing to take the radical words of the Bible seriously. Brian Robbins is a pastor, a husband, a father, and a follower of Jesus Christ. He grew up in small mountain towns in northern California, and has lived in cities of various sizes all over the western United States. He holds a bachelor's degree in English, and has completed nearly half of a specially customized twenty-year plan to finish his seminary training. He has served as a youth minister and college minister, and is now the lead pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Lincoln City, Oregon, the same church where he was a brand-new staff member when this book was written. Some of Brian's favorite things are backpacking, basketball, reading, cheeseburgers, teaching the Bible, and spending time with his wife Carey and their growing family. This is his first book.
