Lee served more than twenty-six years in the Canadian Armed Forces, most of it as one of the first women to serve as a regular force combat arms officer, during which she deployed on several international operational deployments. In addition to her military experience, she has studied extensively in the areas of history, politics, legal studies, international affairs, international humanitarian law, and gender studies. She lives in Ontario, Canada, with her two dogs. This is her first book.
