Due to industrial demand for reliable and sustainable energy, a variety of new and scientifically based technologies, thin films studies have made tremendous advances in the last decade. The thin film solar energy conversion devices have, therefore become of vital importance. Researchers working in photovoltaic materials and devices in many parts of the world feel the urgent need to revitalize research in photovoltaics. Therefore more attention has been given on photovoltaic devices for direct conversion of solar energy into electrical energy. Energy scenario on solar spectrum shows that the visible region carries about 47% of the energy useful for photovoltaic solar energy conversion. There has been considerable interest in the development of the systems for deposition of thin films which are capable of converting and storing the solar energy. There has been an increasing interest during past few decades in metal chalcogenide thin films because of their promising uses in variousfields of science and technology.
