Autorenporträt
Born in Sweden, Göran R. Buckhorn rowed at Malmö Roddklubb (MRK) as a teen and later became a novice and women's coach. A lifetime member of MRK, he was its president from 1990 to 1993. He worked as an editor for a Swedish publishing company for fourteen years, and co-founded the Swedish rowing magazine Svensk Rodd, for which he was coeditor. Since moving to the United States in 2000, Göran has worked in a few positions at Mystic Seaport Museum, including nine years as the editor of the museum's magazine. He has remained active in the rowing community, serving as one of the directors of Friends of Rowing History and as founder and editor of the rowing history website Hear The Boat Sing (HTBS). Göran is the author or editor of several books on the subject of rowing. He lives in Mystic, Connecticut.
