DL HAVLIN believes readers are thinkers and that open minds, open books. That's who he writes for. Havlin's books are filled with history and mystery/suspense, the two genres on which he concentrates. He's in demand as a speaker on historical topics and writing issues. In the 30+ years he has been writing, he's received numerous awards including multiple FWA Royal Palm Literary Awards, Promoting Outstanding Writers Awards, and many others. His short stories have been featured in literary magazines including his award winner, "There Are No Lights In Naples." In winning the RPLA for his literary novel, Bully Route Home, one judge wrote ". . . about the highest compliment I can give a book: It is reminiscent of To Kill A Mocking Bird, not just in plot, but in language, mood, and adventure." DL Havlin is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, did some masters pre-law at Rollins, and was a business executive. He lives in SW Florida with his wife Jeanelle, his golden retriever Brandi, and cat Missy.
