The Grandkids Meet the Cabin Elves is the second book in The Cabin Elf series. In this adventure, the entire human family comes to the cabin for Thanksgiving and to play in the snow. Unfortunately, there has been no snow or even rain in months. The cabin elf kids want to meet the human kids, but their parents tell them that can never happen. Olivia, one of Grammie and Grampie's granddaughters, that she thinks she's seen the cabin elves, but Grammie and Grampie just dismiss this as wild imagination. Despite their elf parents' warning, the cabin elf kids make up a plan to meet the human kids. Through a series of secret notes, they invite the humans to play in the snow with them on Thanksgiving Eve night. The kids and elves sneak out to a snow-covered world created by the cabin elf kids' magic dust. Then the adventure truly begins! But as in many cases where someone is sneaking around doing things that they shouldn't, things go very wrong. The light snow becomes a blinding snowstorm and the kids and elves are lost...until a furry hand delivers them to the safety of his cave. It's the Idyll Beast, Idyllwild's giant forest creature. The terrified kids and elves think they are done for, but the Idyll Beast saves them, makes a hot meal and helps them return home after the storm. The kids sneak upstairs to bed leaving puddles of water everywhere in the cabin. On Thanksgiving morning, Grammie and Grampie ask them where all the water came from. The kids "don't have a clue"! They run up to their loft to play and give a thumbs up to the cabin elf kids who are waiting for them there. They'll never forget "their snow-venture so wild".
