About the Author Fred Clausen is an educator, author and motivational speaker who has spent over forty years in public education. He enjoyed a successful career as a teacher, coach and athletic administrator. Fred is a Past-President of the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA), after having served as President in 2007-08. He was honored as the High School "Athletic Director of the Year" for the state of Texas in 2008 and selected for induction into the Texas High School Athletic Directors "Hall of Honor" in 2009. Fred currently serves as the District Director of Athletic Programs for the Dallas County Community College District and the Dallas Metro Athletic Conference Commissioner. Fred has also served for six years on the Board of Directors of Unity Church of Dallas, most recently as the Board President. Unity of Dallas is a new thought ministry that embraces positive, practical Christianity that is free of judgment and full of love. His relationship with Unity began in 1987. Fred's life experiences have led him on a variety of spiritual quest, but the Unity core messages of unconditional love and prosperity consciousness have always drawn him back. His solid spiritual foundation is now permanently settled in Unity where the love, acceptance, and a mindset of both prosperity and abundance provide daily inspiration and motivation on his human journey. Fred is also the author of the book "The Essential Elements of Successful Coaching". His book has been used in many coaching seminars, professional growth programs and college classrooms as a valuable aide to educating both young coaches and veterans alike.
