India has been referred to as the "world's hub in prostitution related human trafficking." Human trafficking and gender discrimination is raging in India. It is not only women who are being sexually exploited or trafficked into the sex industry, it is also the under-age children. In my work, I have examined and analyzed the exploitive nature of prostitution and sex trafficking in India. My goal has been to provide an analysis on how the vulnerable women and children are being exploited into prostitution and sex trafficking. By utilizing the term, 'vulnerable,' I am specifically referring to individuals who are socially and, or economically disadvantaged within society. I argue that as a nation, India has not yet been effective in achieving social, political and legal changes that are much needed and required for vulnerable peoples that are being exploited or trafficked into the sex industry.
