Awakened night after night by the ghost of some murder victims hovering in the darkness over his bed, denying him sleep, Robbo resolves to tell their stories. Each story is based on his actual case files as a deputy for the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Department between 1981 and 2014. These stories were compiled by combining Robbo's memories with witness statements, trial transcripts, and interviews with the people involved. Robbo even traveled to Louisiana prisons, interviewing men he helped convict, to elicit their memories of the crimes.
