Malaria is a massive public health issue in nonendemic hospitals in Bangladesh. It needs special attention in clinical suspicion and diagnosis. Availability of rapid diagnostic kit and facilities and quality of blood film are inadequate. This descriptive study was carried out on 30 adult patients from medicine unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital to assess epidemiological profile of malaria and to understand pattern of malaria and to improve management of cases. This article is targeted to medical researcher and specialists who are interested in malaria outcome in non-endemic zone hospitals.

Prof Dr. Mamunur Rashid is involved with Quest International University, Malaysia at the Faculty of Medicine. He is the Head of the Medicine department. Graduated from Dhaka Medical College, he has obtained FCPS (Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons, Bangladesh) for medicine and also has completed MRCPUK from the Royal College of Physicians
