Autorenporträt
Colm Fahy was born and reared on the wild and windswept Achill Island, the largest island on Ireland's remote northwestern coast. After finishing school locally, Colm went on to study politics, anthropology and law in Dublin, Galway and Montreal, and thereafter lived and worked for varying periods in London, Paris and Madrid and across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. A bilingual English and Irish speaker originally, Colm is also fluent in French and Spanish. Colm is also a qualified lawyer, and these days works as a consultant on the international legal and human rights aspects of electoral processes. His profession has brought him across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, providing a rich well of inspiration for his life-long passion for illustration and storytelling. Colm also enjoys collecting picture books, writing, cooking, playing guitar and the low whistle - a traditonal large sized wind instrument that evokes the the west of Ireland, the landscape closest to his heart. Colm shares his life with Tomas, his Argentine partner of twenty years.
