John Whitten, writer, artist, musician, is a retired Clinical Social Worker/Therapist living on a small, comfortable farm in Western Washington State with beloved wife Merry, their Golden Bohdi, and a semi-feral cat named Sophie. John is a two-tour combat veteran of Vietnam and a proud member of Potawatomi Citizens Nation, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Whitten holds Masters Degrees in Social Work and Psychology. He was employed by the Veterans Administration as a Vet Center Team Leader, Chico, California. He worked private practice with community trauma and formed Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Teams in both California and Oregon to help Emergency Responders deal with difficult situations.
