The Education of Anthony Bryant tells the story of an eighteen-year-old who makes a tragic mistake and is given a thirty year to life sentence, after serving as the getaway driver in a robbery resulting in a store owner's death. Once Bryant learns he'll be eligible for parole after serving fifteen years of his sentence, he resolves to do everything in his power to win parole at that distant point. His journey on the road to rehabilitation, redemption, and possible parole is also rife with risk, given his circumstances-but with the support of his family, a former girlfriend, and a group of older inmates who look out for him, Bryant does the best he can to prepare for his hearing and earn a second chance at a productive life in his community.
