Autorenporträt

Mena Calthorpe: was born in Australia in 1905. The editor of the local paper, who helped Miles Franklin early in her career, encouraged her writing. After marrying, Calthorpe moved to Sydney and worked, writing in her spare time. She was active in literary groups, the Labor Party and, for some time, the Communist Party. Fiona McFarlane: is the acclaimed author of The Night Guest (Faber & Faber, 2014).
