This book, Sustainable Touridm in Least Developed Countries is a theoretical framework and reflects on destination capitals (Sharpley, 2010) adapted to a Least Developed Countries (LDCs) context by Foday Yaya Drammeh (2014). A survey of stakeholders provides data for a description of the components of sustainable development with the use of destination capitals. The three most important destination capitals for sustainable tourism development in LDCs are found to be environmental, sociocultural and human capitals on the destionation, Such components of sustainable tourism development are avaible and easily accessible, and controlled by locals on the destiantion. It reflects on the indegeneous knowledge of the destination which includes an understanding of environment, socio-economy, culture, ways of living and history of the people on the destination.
