Odara, spirit warrior for the greater good of the universe, has continuously excelled in all of her assignments from the Sacred Council. She now has been offered a promotion to the highest level of ascension for any spirit warrior- to never have to assume a physical body again. Her promotion would put her among the elite ranks of spirit warriors that only do battle in the spirit realm. The problem is that she has become fond of the body that she inhabits as Odara. She is assigned by the Sacred Council to take a journey through her past to revisit how she became who she is before she is to respond to them with an answer. During the course of five full moons, Odara journeys back through several lifetimes with her companion Prentice, and Phillip, the messenger for the Sacred Council. Through these journeys, she is reminded of who she is and how she came to be.

Carla J. Lawson is a California, Bay Area multi- faceted artist/author who entered into the literary world with the trilogy "Odara's Rise." The books of the trilogy, "The Return", "The Weavers" and "The Decision", are an afro-futurism/ Black Sci Fi series that feature an African American female superhero named Odara. Odara's story is completely unpredictable with multiple layers of culture, history, folklore and mysticism. Odara is a spirit warrior who utilizes a physical body to carry out assignments for the greater good of the universe. She uses time travel, telekinesis, spells, orbs and other special gifts and abilities when called into warfare. "The Return", the first book of the trilogy introduces Odara and gives you a glimpse of who she is and what she does. In "The Weavers", the second book of the trilogy, Odara is assigned to find the 64,000 missing Black women in the United States of America and hopefully return them to their families. The final book of the trilogy, "The Decision", is based on Odara's consistent growth and favorable accomplishments. She will have to decide if she will accept a promotion to full ascension as a spirit warrior or continue to carry out her assignments using a physical body as the vessel. The three books have a flow that will keep readers engaged and engrossed, eagerly waiting to see what will happen in Odara's world next. Carla's journey as an author is just beginning. Next on the horizon is a body of work that falls somewhere between mystery/thrillers with African American protagonists and villains. You can follow Carla J.
