Their stories evolve the older they get, and is aimed towards middle-grade readers.Secondly, there is the Van Tonder Series - This series follow the career of legendary detective Esopus van Tonder. Starting with the second to last in the series of seven novels, The Wolf and the Crane, and then following that with a series of prequels, beginning with A Candidate for Murder, which chronicles his time in the special forces and the events that would eventually lead to him becoming the detective that he was always meant to be.
