With these reforms, the learner has taken on a privileged role as the main actor in his or her own learning. The oral expression activity must be systematically introduced in any FLE course, as it enables them to be in direct and permanent contact with the target language. Although they have specific characteristics, the two oral/written codes form the same teaching object insofar as learners practice them in the classroom or in everyday life. As a result, oral communication plays a vital role in the mastery of the foreign language, in both spoken and written form.
