The problems of political culture of the Moldavian citizens and their participation to the local political life, the activity of local political parties and the mechanism of political elections are another key-problems analysed in this book. A short description of the historical events of the land starting with Basarabia`s annexation to Russian Empire in 1812 and finishing with the creation of Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic as part of USSR made as introduction to the central subject analysed in this book. The main goal of the work was to bring light upon some unknown problems regarding the political life and the constitutional ordinance of Republic of Moldova, a small young state born in the South-Eastern part of the Europe after the collapse of the USSR, that today is still passing the period of transition from the communism to the democracy.

Cristina Timus was born in Republic of Moldova on March 26,1982. On June 2004 she obtained Bachelor Degree in History, on July 2005 Master Degree in History at State University of Moldova,Republic of Moldova. On April 24, 2009 she became the Ph.D.in Geopolitics at Department of Political Sciences of Universita degli Studi di Pisa,Italy.
