This book speaks to the imagination and wonder of the young child. The reader discovers diversity through the interaction of color. In a unique style, rainbow colors talk, engage and come to appreciate something new. Readers are invited to observe color, learn about nature, and see how to create new realtionships. It begins like this. It's a rainy day and clouds illuminate the sky. But when a peak of sun reveals a rainbow, the Color Friends appear. Together they share some of their color into the rain drops. As the colored rain splashes upon the ground, a brown puddle is created. The Color Friends are not sure what to think. It doesn't look like them. But Green knows about the color Brown, and tells his rainbow friends about this unique color. Just then a squirrel happens upon a dried up puddle and puts his acorn into the brown dirt. Surprise! The acorn sprouts and grows into a fine oak tree. Two children climb the tree and see that brown is a part of everything, including you and me.
